A fantastic day of adventuring: a clear day at one of Costa Rica's most beautiful volcanoes and one of the biggest open craters in the world. A nice hike up, cool weather and appreciative kids. What more could you ask for? How about mountain-mist grown strawberries on the way down as we headed for the five spectacular waterfalls that awaited us at Cataratas La Paz.… On Wednesday, I headed off to a local garden nursery with Pan-American teacher, Profe Brayan, to buy various plants for our community engagement project. We went to a local public school to work in their garden with their 6th graders to prepare the soil and plant various colorful flowers, a variety of herbs, miniature citrus trees, and many types of vegetable seeds including carrots, beans, spinach, eggplant and tomatoes. The school will use the harvest to help feed their students. Here are a few photos! |
